Teaching

Two degree programs are offered for undergraduate students:

  • 1. An Associate's degree in Agricultural Technology with an option in Landscape and Turf Management
  • 2. A Bachelor of Science degree in Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences (CSES)
  • with an option in Turfgrass Management

    Undergraduate Studies

    Dr. Ervin is the main advisor and instructor for Turfgrass Management option students pursuing a B.S. degree.
    The current checksheet requires a total of 120 credits to graduate. Currently there is a 3-course sequence of turfgrass-specific classes in the B.S. program.

    Dr. Ervin teaches:
    - CSES 2564: Turfgrass Management
    - CSES 3564: Golf and Sports Turf Management

    Dr. Goatley teaches:
    - CSES 4564: Integrated Management of Turfgrass Systems, our capstone turfgrass class for seniors-only:

    Graduate Studies

    CSES also offers Master's of Science(M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees with specializations in Turfgrass Culture and Physiology under the advisement of Drs. Ervin and Goatley.
    Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs) and Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs) that provide a monthly salary and tuition are periodically available.
